Beaders Club Meets at Susan’s- 10-5+1=6

Farmer's Market Challenge ( #37b)

This month’s Beaders Club met at Susan’s. Members Susan, Brenda, Carol Ann, Kelley, and Jim were there, along with my friend Mary Love from Morrilton. We had a wonderful visit and then out sack lunch. Susan made a WONDERFUL peach crisp that was the best sugar I have had in 3 years!!! (She, also, told us how to make baked chicken with Ritz crackers. You melt butter, roll the chicken in Ritz crackers and bake. Sounds SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! She said hot or cold it

was great.) After lunch we had Show & Tell. Carol Ann brought two of her new fabric baskets, four of her Century Log Cabin Blocks and the first of a new quilt she started. Susan showed what she and Pat had painted at Pat’s using a new fabric paint, a quilt top

she designed based on A Piece of Cake pattern for a young friend named Flora, and a stamped quilt block she has been working on. I showed y last two blocks I designed for the CAQ, my scrap quilt #37 (see that Blog), and my Ferndale Challenge Farmer’s Market top.

Susan's Show & Tell

I don’t remember what Brenda showed. I don’t think Kelley showed anything. But, Kelley did give us a report on Doodle. Guest Mary Love showed her first quilt that she is keeping while her son moves, and her latest quilt. Both were fantastic!!!! We had a wonderful day and really enjoyed being at Susan’s. Toward the end we got to visit her deck and yard to see all her flowers. Unbelievable!!! She had blooming plants and shrubs everywhere! No telling what he water bill will be this summer. They day ended for Mary and me with a trip to Hobby Lobby in Conway where I bought a couple of presents and stocked up on Perle Cotton, and then we ate at Colton’s. I took so any pictures I am going to do 2 posts, one on the meeting and one on Susan’s house. We missed all that weren’t there, but a great day!!!

  1. Brenda Wall says:

Great post Jim. I (Brenda) didn’t show anything, just a tale or two about the trip to Bargains Galore on ’64. You may have missed a couple of those, especially the one about the tire blowout and the nice state trooper. Good to see everyone.
