Roy Dudley Estate Sales and the Antique Sale at the Conway Fairgrounds

Liz’s Find

I forgot that the Conway Antique Sale was this weekend.  I was supposed to go to my Heart and Hand Sewing Group at the Conway Library today, but I had to go to Sacred Heart’s graduation.  But, Liz called early and said she wanted to go to Conway and we could get back before graduation at 4:00. I had received Roy Dudley’s  email about the sale this weekend yesterday and saw a petit point purse I really wanted, but I had to stay home, because I had the 11th graders over for game night and I had to get ready. So, I emailed my old classmates Carol and Susie that lived down there and asked if they were going, would they pick it up. Between them both, they got the one I wanted and another tapestry one made in France. They are both great finds and a good addition to my collection. On the Roy Dudley site I saw a picture of some china. It looked familiar, but it wasn’t until today that I realized it was Mama’s wedding china. It was 65 years old and was hard to replace.  Liz called and said that we were going to the Conway Fairgrounds Antique Sale and I said we had to go to Little Rock to pick up the purses and to see the china.  We went and it was a real treat. Roy is so nice and the people who work for him is so helpful.  I found the china, Castleton Devon. Cream border, white center with blue and yellow flowers. The platter was marked $90. I thought, boy if that’s the platter I won’t be able to afford the set. A worker came by and said that it was the last day of the sale and that everything was half of the marked price. I asked what was the price of the whole set and he said, well it would be $45.00 now…………….. for EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Forty-five pieces of china for $45!!!!!!!!! What a deal!!!!!! I told him I wanted it. When I got home I looked it up on Replacements Limited. These are the prices on Replacements Limited:  15 inch oval platter – 99.95; gravy boat – 84.95; vegetable bowl – 119.95; 8 cups and saucers – 8 @ 15.99=127.92; 3 extra saucers – 3 X 5.99= 17.97; 10 salad plates – 10 X 8.99= 89.90; 10 dinner plates – 10 X 13.99= 139.90

absolutely loved and it was beautiful. She talked to them a long time and met a worker that had ties to Morrilton. We shopped for about an hour there and I picked up several things. Then we went to Conway to the fairgrounds and shopped there. Check out the descriptions and prices on the pictures. It was bargain day!!!
