The Last Meeting of our Button Club was in June in Hot Springs Village

Pat's - CopyOur last Button Club meeting was in June at Pat W.’s house in Hot Spring Village. We haven’t been meeting regularly for about a year, but Pat wanted to have us to her house to see her colletions. She has been a avid button collector for over 40 years and has a wonderful collection. Her house is fantastic and everything she has is unusual. But, the neatest thing is she has one whole room devoted to her button collection. There are floor to ceiling book shelves filled with buttons, cards of buttons, framed buttons, and button accessories. Her work table is in the middle of the room and she can see out a double window to see nature while she works. Since our time together at has had an illness ad surgery that was life-threatening. She had promised her only son that she would get rid of her button collection before something happened to her. And she did. She contacted a button seller up north and they drove a van down to get it all. Pat told me she didn’t save one button and that she sent it all to be sold and auctioned off.  I can’t imagine gettng rid of a life time of collecting and love.Pat's housePat'sbuttonsbutton colection (From left: Pat, Sally, and Barbara.)
