Art From Trash – I Forgot About This

scan0004 - CopyI ran across these pictures looking for something else. I had forgotten about doing this in my art classes years ago. Each student had to take a poster board and cover it with “trash.” It could be any labels, boxes, cans, containers, printed items, and there had to be  items that stood out that  were 3 -D. We went to the Koch’s barn in the middle of town and stapled each section to the barn. It stayed up a week and then we went back and pulled it all down and threw the “Trash Art” away.  I see Donna G, Jayme Leigh, and Megan P. in the picture. I wonder what year that was. We had photos made and submitted it to the Arkansas Children’s Exhibition. I can remember them calling and wondering if  we still had the whole thing. They wanted the original “art” not a photo. Fun times. Good memories.scan0002scan0004scan0006

Really cool….I love recycling & it is great to get the kids involved. Gimo & I pick up trash on the road where we live and two miles of highway near here. It is amazing how much junk we pick up, usually at least a very large bag full. AND sometimes I keep some for mixed media projects.
