Fannie’s Traditional Embroidered Red and Green Quilt

AWOL, red and green quilt, snowan quilt, Pat's stuff 127Fannie is a member of two of my feb. 2013 380sewing groups. I met her the first month I moved to Morrilton 40 years ago. She was the business/typing teacher at the high school where I started teaching.  After she retired she started sewing and quilting. She has two rooms in her house dedicated to fabric arts. She has several machines and lots of fabric stash. One of her machines is an embroidery machine. She made big embroidered blocks with fanne 2 red and green awhile back. She’s like all of us, she put them away and couldn’t find the for some time. When she found them she brought them over for me to see what she needed to do. Well, I had to cut them all same size first. Later she bought red and green fabric for the borders and corner stones. I measured the blocks and cut the pieces. Fannie finally got it together at our retreat. I took it to Eddie and he quilted it for her and squared it up. She was out of red so she picked up some more. I had had the quilt for about a month. Fannie’s 92 and she likes to get things done quickly. So, I asked Joan to come over and she cut and ironed and I sewed the binding on. Fannie came and got it and she was going to put the rest of the binding on by hand. It is a beautiful quilt! Good job, Fannie!!!!Fannie 1AWOL, red and green quilt, snowan quilt, Pat's stuff 131
