Antiquing with Pete and Liz Saturday in Conway

New York trip, finds, pete and Liz antiquing 264Liz called Saturday morning and asked me to go to Conway with her and Pete. Pete had an appointment to get the oil changed and Liz wanted to get out for a while. They picked me up and away we went. Pete dropped us at Toad’s Crossing Antique Mall and we got to see Kathy and Robin. Then, Pete met us back there and we went to Jennifer’s Antiques to eat at the sandwichFinds 1 z shop. But, the sandwich shop was closed for a family wedding so we shopped.  Chick Filet! Lunch. I don’t ever eat there and I was really surprised how good it was. We headed east to see a new junk store someone had told me about and the Memphis Flea Market was at the Expo Center. It was only $3.00 to get in so we went.  Now if you like T-shirts, and hair bows, and hunks of chocolate fudge you were in heaven. Crap. Crap everywhere.  I walkedFinds 2 z straight down 2 aisles and didn’t go in one booth. There were only 3 antique booths I saw in the 30 minutes I was there. Really don’t waste your time unless you really like crap. Then we went to Greenbrier and back down to Pickle’s Gap. The good antique store in the middle is going out of business.  I have bought stuff from her for years. She had 20% off everything and half off other stuff. We had fun shopping in there. My finds were:  I found 6finds 3z red salts with blown glass salt spoons that match my others, a red glass ink well, a glass spoon, 2 blue cut bowls/votives, McDonald’s Madame Alexander Glenda the Good Witch, some doll clothes and a Battenberg lace umbrella, a cranberry spoon, and a butter knife with an old English G, a rhinestone and metal perfume bottle, a china purse with raised flowers, 2 small oval petit point framed pieces, a mary Englebreit salad plate, a wooden doll bench, a divided trinket box with a mirrored lid and a glass bottom, and fifteen 1940’s perfume bottles. Not a bad haul for a day’s work. My friend Karen Price would be proud.
