Crazy Quilt Border on Lois’ Scrap Top

raorback, quilts, quilt camp 070I took my top from Lois Hall’s blocks and put a crazy quilt border on it at our small quilt retreat. The blog post about Lois and the scrap quilt top is:  https://jimgatling.wordpress.com/2014/06/22/lois-amish-square-in-a-square-in-a-square/ (Just click on that.) I had the top finished but it needed a border and I had a big box of Lois’s scraps to use up. I thought a crazy quilt border would be unusual and different. It didn’t take that long, because I have done this technique before. Fast and simple. The only thing I did was to  get a common denominator. This one was it all had to be 4″ and 3/4″ wide and in a straight line.  I did the 4 sides and then sewed them on. and squared the corners. I like this top and I really appreciate Lois giving me her blocks and her scraps to finish it and to put it together. Thanks again, Lois!!!Lois Hall 2a
