Framing an Antique Watercolor

painting 001Yesterday I bought an old photograph in an oval gold frame. I didn’t want the photo I wanted the frame. Today, I took it apart and used it for one of my Victorian watercolors. It is a woman with a snooty look and a green hat. I hated the diamond-shaped mat it had on it.  I look out for frames for small old watercolors. I try to find something close that would have been in that time period. This frame is probably around 1960. The label on the frame had the phone number as: FR 4-o723.  The price old the frame was originally $15.50. Yesterday, I bought it for $8.00. Still a deal for today’s prices.
