Thanksgiving with Friends on the Mountain

Thanksgiving, Conway and Hot springs antiques 022When I started planning on what to do about Thanksgiving I talked to Mama and I was the only one that was going to be around. One brother is in Japan, one is in Saudi, and one only had the day off Thursday and didn’t want to travel. Blake and Cindy and the kids wanted to either go hunting or just rest at home which they never get to do. So, it was just the two of us. Liz called and wanted to know what I was doing and I told her it was just Mama andTH 1 me. So, she invited both of us. Mama said she would love to go and I asked what I needed to bring. I made sweet potato casserole with pecans and marshmallows, cranberry salad with pecans and Mandrian oranges and green bean casserole. Mama made an Italian creme cake. I picked Mama up and went to the mountain to Jim and Ruth Ellen’s. Boy, did we ever have a spread.four pies, and a cake, turkey and ham, dressing and stuffing, gravy,TH 2 rolls, relishes………..the list goes on and. We had a delightful meal with Pete, Liz, Ash and Anna, Jim and Ruth Ellen, Dan, Mama and me. Nice simple wonderful day! Oh, the table was really fall festive with mixed fresh flowers, a fall table runner, and placemats. The dishes were Ruth Ellen’s china and mixed with Liz’s, and the silverware was Granny Ettman’s. Lovely table. Wonderful food. Great fellowship!Thanksgiving, Conway and Hot springs antiques 026
