No One Came For Christmas and the Sugar Cookies

SH faculty party, Russelleville antiquing, Brian's silver 057Well, before Christmas I posted on Facebook that I was collecting sugar cookies and I was accepting donations. I got a text message and a FB message to go to our little sweet shop called Tasty Cakes and pick up an order. It was a surprise from my friend Dixie. She lives off in one of those Yankee states that has a lot of snow. She saw my post and just wanted to  be Santa’s little helper elf.  I brought them home and decided to freeze them until Christmas day when the kids and grandkids came over for Santa and breakfast. Now Debbie always makes decorated sugar cookies and she brought me over a big tray she had made.Well, sir, I get a call on Christmas day while I was cooking breakfast: 40 biscuits, a large package of bacon, 2 packages of sausage, sausage gravy, toasted rolls with Shannon’s blackberry jelly, grape jelly, orange juice, milk, Dr. Pepper and the big tray of sugar cookies. It was Cindy.SH faculty party, Russelleville antiquing, Brian's silver 056 She said that Blake and Maggie were sick with the bug and that she and Will might come.  Well, she called back and said Will was sick, so no one was coming. I had everything ready and no one was coming!!! I put everything in the frig, took down all the decorations and cleaned house before I had to go to Mama’s at noon.  I missed my kids.wood burn Christmas 2014 127 Uncle Stewart and Aunt Martha came by to give the grandkids their presents, and she gave me a plate full of cookies. That is a shame! As one diagnosed with the flu and pronounced contagious two days before Christmas, I can tell you what a disappointment it is from the sickly side too. Everything looks lovely.
