Two Swans A’Swimming – Watercolor

quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 023This week between the snows and school being out, I decided to paint a big watercolor. I have been doing tiny 3 ” by 5″ primitive watercolors lately. I wanted to try a big one. Well, a 9″ by 12″ one.  I looked on the net for an idea. Found an acrylic painting that was flat patterned and it had enough for me to get the idea going on paper. I did it in sections drawing areas and planning how to paint them in. I only used 2 small round pointed brushes and a flat diagonal-cut brush. I use the old Prang school watercolor sets with the eight colors and an added white.  When I got through I was hoping the frame I bought in Oklahoma City last weekend was the right size and it was. It is tiny, busy, but quaint. quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 023Oklahoma city 003 Oklahoma city 010 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 016 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 017 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 018 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 019 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 020 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 021 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 022 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 088 quilt class, finds, watercolor painting amaryllis 089
