Building a New Matisse Painting

Matisse - "Blue Lady"

Matisse – “Blue Lady”

This week I had nothing to do. Several of my running buddies were out-of-town so I decided to be artistic and work in the art room at school. Friday was a dud day. Friends were supposed to meet me to paint, but they ended up moving family furniture. I decided I was going to paint another acrylic Matisse. I had another canvas board and I knew which one I wanted to do. The original was basically on a square format and I had a rectangle canvas. So I needed more stuff in the picture. I went to the net and found tons of ideas This is what I came up with Friday. A Matisse painted from about 10 other Matisses.  I do like it and enjoyed painting it. I added a crown, because it reminded me of Amy Martin Mason and I added a cross to the beads in her hand to make it a rosary. I have no room or wall space to hang it. Just something else to put in the closet. Matisse B 1 Matisse B 2 Matisse B 3 Matisse B 4 Matisse B 5 Matisse B 6 Matisse B 7 Matisse B 8 Matisse B 9 Matisse B 10 Rabbitt Matisse Watercolors 038

Love them Jim! Have you been to Crystal Bridges to see Van Goh to Rothko exhibit? It is wonderful. Has some Matisse, Derain, Picasso, etc. Worth the trip.
