Pink Glass Gift from Friends

dumplins, flowers, cornbread 056 dumplins, flowers, cornbread 057Last week I went to eat with friends on the mountain. They had been on a trip and brought me back a wonderful surprise. It was a pink Depression glass etched server with a center handle. The octagonal shape plate was etched from the back with a floral design. I found several on the net ranging from $14.00 to $229.00. It is very unusual. It looks like an umbrella sitting upside down. I love it. Thanks, Jim and Ruth Ellen.dumplins, flowers, cornbread 061

I have one! I think it is bigger than this one!

Now that is one beautiful treasure! I’ve seen a few of these out in the wild but they were always far too expensive for my pocketbook. Congratulations for having “captured” one of these beauties!

Jim, I inherited a very similar one from my little “adopted” grandmother. She would have been 104 now, and she always referred to it as a “sandwich tray.” It must have been for serving the dainty tea sandwiches.
