Flooding Waters – Water Everywhere

thumbI’m sitting here typing this blog post about water and flooding, and lightning strikes and it’s pouring outside again.  AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!  Water has always amazed me. I can remember going to my uncle’s house in Houston and waiting for the afternoon rains to play in the ditches. It was so much fun,PJ 2 because all the ditches were covered in thick mowed grass and the water was always clear. Wednesday, I went up to the mountain with a friend so look at the Arkansas River and the flooding from Petit Jean’s grave.  It was something to see. The water crested yesterday and now with more rain, no telling what will happen.  I drove over to Jerry and Mona Kaye’s with a family member that has asked to remain nameless on all my social media, and we stood out on the back porch and saw the paper mill, the dam, Petit Jean Mountain, the Arkansas River and the flooded farm land below. Lots of acreage under water. As I was leaving, Beth called and told me she was standing on Muriel’s front porch looking at the farm land going out of Morrilton toward Blackwell standing in water. Wednesday, I went to Greenbrier and water was standing everywhere at the flats after Pickle’s Gap. Today,  after supper, we went to see the river at the river bridge and the water was way up. Round bales of hay were floating down to the tree lines at the second levy. Wonder what tonight’s rain will bring???PJ 1MaumelleJ and M 1J A M 2
