Gifted Old Brass Items

Joe's birthday Tulsa trip 222When I got to Gary’s house in Tulsa, there was a pile of brass items stacked on the bed with a note: “Jim, can you use these.”  Well, YES!!!  These were items that Gary was given when his brother closed down his shop this year and retired.  Brass is not in at all and no one likes to polish it any more. But, I have great ideas of what to do. The big candlestick, I will drill holes in and hang prisms and spray paint it a bright color. The trays will get a coat of gesso and I will do some tole Christmas painting on. The tea set I will probably do some decorative repeated patterns. and the candlesticks will get a  modern facelift. So, Thank you, Gary, for the neat cast aways. brass 1Brass 2
