The Flooding in Morrilton

DSCN8434My good friend, Leslie, called to check on me after the lightning strike. We decided to go eat lunch and then go see the flooding water at the river. We drove across the Arkansas River bridge and then went to the dam. There was a man in a trailer that was on duty watching the water rise. He told us we could go and take pictures. It was really interesting to see how fast and how high the river was. When we left we went over to Ronnie and Janice’s on the Morrilton side to see it from another view.  Then I met Joan and her family and we went up to Mona Kaye and Jerry’s beyond the cemetery to see how close it was to their back yard. Water has always fascinated me. I can remember as a child visiting my great uncle and aunt, Mildred and Jess, in H0uston and playing in the grass covered ditches after rains.
