Elk Hunting – MGA Part 5

On  my “Great Adventure” Robert drove us all over to places I had never even heard of. We were in the Jasper area and he drove us to where the Game and Fish Department had introduced elk to Arkansas. As we came down to a valley cars and trucks were parked on both sides of the road. People were in lawn chairs, eating picnic suppers, and all were staring out into open fields looking at nothing.  Probably 100 people. Beth rolled down her window and she said, “Did you heard that?” It was an elk bugling. Well, it was really something to hear. You could hear it several times. Then, out they came. One at a time and just appeared like magic, a whole herd of elk. There were about 40 and there were 3 males with huge racks. We got out and Beth had taken my camera and clicked on a few things and I got some okay pictures. Time to get a new camera though. Now I can put on my resume, Elk Hunter.
