Candy Making 101

I have made several batches of candy and salted pecans this month. The salted pecans were made from Mama’s pecans in the freezer, and so did the almond bark. I covered a cookie sheet with pecans, put several pats of butter on top with salt and garlic. Cook at 350 degrees and stir until brown. Don’t over cook them, because when you take them out they will continue to cook a little before cooling. I melted bars of chocolate almond bark and vanilla almond bark together and pour it in a bowl of uncooked pecans. Stir until covered and start to cool. I use a baby spoon to dip them out onto a cookie sheet covered in wax paper. Neat little chocolate fix. I did the same thing with the sweet and salty trail mix.  I used a bigger spoon to dip those out. Easy candy fixes.
