Christmas Eve at the Weidower

dscn1234For the past 5 or 6 years I have been invited up to Linda’s to help cook and spend time with her and her friends and family. Christmas Eve is a biggy for her, because she plays the organ at Midnight Mass. She gets everything bought and all the Christmas dishes out and then we cook and set everything up. This year it was real special to me. Linda had Mama’s Christmas dishes and bought lots when we had Mamas’ estate sale. It was really neat to see what she had done with them and how she set her tables. This year she decided to do Italian foods. She got things from Pasta grill and served fettuccine alfredo, cheese tortellini, meat balls, salad, garlic bread, and several other dishes I can’t spell. The desserts were sugar cookies, pound cakes, fired pies, candies, and lots more.  It was really, really good. I got there at 4:30 and we got everything ready  and got to eat at 7:00. With the help of friends. while the family was having Santa, we cleaned up. I left at 10:30 with my belly full and my feet swollen. Loads of fun. Of course there is always excitement. Ask Linda what happened. It wasn’t funny. But, I can relate. It always happened at Mama’s.
