The Weekend for Estate Sales

This weekend I have been to two of Roy Dudley’s estate sales in Little Rock and  have been working in one for Ivo in Mayflower. We went to Roy’s sale in a house in Little Rock. It was truly a museum with all kinds of art, paintings, sculptures, you name it. Real different. I picked up a couple of large wooden spoons to wood burn, a large coffee table book on Toulouse-Lautrec, (I’m designing a quilt using his paintings.) and a couple of red glass mugs to eat ice cream out of. Last week we went to Roy’s sale on Cantrell and I got a few little things. A small brass candlestick, a sterling candle snuffer, several hankies, and a miniature dressing table with a lamp and perfume bottles. This week we went back and I got a silk embroidered box, and a sterling cheese server. On the way back we stopped at an estate sale in Conway. I picked up two lighted stands for crystal balls, a crystal ball paperweight,  two crystal handled cake and pie servers, 2 replacement clear trumpet vases, prisms for a lamp I needed, a wooden sock darner, and a black bow tie. Sales are so interesting to me. It’s like going to a museum each time. You always see something unique and different.
